Supportive Housing Community Land Alliance

Creating equitable, environmentally sustainable homes

Supportive Housing Community Land Alliance (SHCLA) provides environmentally sustainable and affordable housing for people living with serious mental health challenges in Alameda County, CA. Through community-driven membership that allows for ownership of the land, their organization is able to provide stable, supportive rental housing for low-income individuals.

The Ask

When we first connected with SHCLA, they had a one page website that collected focus group surveys, but their team was ready to establish a more robust digital hub. Accessibility and the potential to expand their site as they grow were primary requirements, as well as a visual design that would evoke feelings of calm, home and healing. We were excited to come on board to help them design and develop a site in line with their current and longer-term goals.

The Solution

After discussing the project with SHCLA, our team agreed that Webflow was a good fit for their needs. While our developer went to work on the back-end, our designers began developing SHCLA’s new logo and the look and feel of their website. During the design and development phases, we kept the needs of their staff, community, residents and donors top of mind.

We’re proud to report that SHCLA now has an accessible, multilingual website that beautifully communicates their story and promises flexibility for the future. Their audience can easily access information about their work, explore current resources and find opportunities to become actively involved.
