How our Agency is Supporting Women in Tech and Beyond
Why it matters
As a women-led business, our team is committed to supporting other women in the workforce and within our communities, but the reasons go far beyond old-fashioned feminism. Supporting other women is smart business that has positive ripple effects on our society and our planet.
Did You Know?
“Improving women’s standing in the world not only allows them to reach their maximum potential, but also improves the prosperity, health, stability, and security of entire societies.” – Catalyst.org
Studies have shown that women account for 75% of unpaid labor. That number reflects domestic responsibilities like cooking and cleaning, and caring for children and other family members. Allowing women’s work to remain unaccounted for is undeniably problematic. Catalyst.org explains it well, citing that women would add about $10 trillion in annual output if their unpaid work was counted in GDP. The bottom line: Women’s work must be recognized to support the stability of our economy and the future development of our society.
“Population interacts with the primary drivers of emissions: production and consumption, largely fossil-fueled.” – DrawDown.org
Though it may not seem obvious, empowering women also contributes to the health of our planet. When women have access to education and equal opportunity, reproductive healthcare increases and fertility rates decrease. This is significant because the number of people on our planet directly affects consumption, waste and other key factors that lead to climate change. How We’re Taking a Stand
One way we’re supporting fellow females is by taking part in the B Corp Women CEOs movement, which aims to create an inclusive and regenerative global economy. We proudly signed the declaration and join with women near and far to advocate for change. We also prioritize supporting organizations that create opportunities for females in male-dominated industries, like Girls Who Code. Their program provides mentorship and education for women with an interest in the tech space. Developing diverse talent that businesses like ours can employ is a big step in the fight for equality. Additionally, many of our clients are woman-led businesses who we have to honor of building websites for, and the majority of our trusted business partners are also woman-owned businesses. We’re fired up by all of the great work coming out of these organizations.
