Mangrove Web Development is a Certified B Corporation that works with open source software. We support the privacy initiative of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which means you are protected from Mangrove Web storing and using any information about you without consent. You can request (at no cost to you) that we remove your data from our systems at your will. We’ve added privacy caveats to all of our public facing forms to make sure users understand how we store and collect data.
Type of information we collect:
Mangrove Web Development is the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location-based information. We ask for your name, address, email, and phone number to be able to contact you during the initial stages of a project.
Why we need your data:
We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with ongoing organizational updates, analysis, and services to communicate with you to maintain your website. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.
Because we are collecting your data, we take extra care with our security. We ensure that all of our sites can be accessed through secure HTTPS protocols, and actively maintain the security on our clients’ websites if they have opted into our maintenance program.
What we do with your data
All personal data we process is reviewed and stored securely by our employees and contractor for the purpose of communicating throughout a project or maintaining your website. We use a secure password manager to store information so that our team can access relevant login information regardless of their location. We cannot control what access third parties have to your data without your consent. Mangrove Web Development does not share, rent, sell or lease your personal information to any unaffiliated person or entity for any reason and without your fully expressed consent.
We use MailChimp to occasionally send newsletters that update you on changes to our organizational systems and share the progress of our team. You will always have the option to opt out of subscription of these emails using the unsubscribe links at the bottom of each newsletter. If you do not wish to receive emails from Mangrove Web Development, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom and top of each newsletter.
Cookies are pieces of information stored by your web browser that make it easier to interact with our site. JavaScript is a programming language that allows for a more dynamic browsing experience. We use JavaScript on our website, but do not use cookies. You may disallow cookies and/or JavaScript in your web browser, although it may have impacts on the site’s appearance and functionality. We never use cookies to retrieve information from a computer that is unrelated to our website.
We use Google Analytics and other 3rd party tools to evaluate the traffic to our website. We have configured these tools to minimize the data that they collect.
We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. Your IP address is used to help identify you for the duration of a session.
How long we keep your data
We keep basic personal data (name, address, contact details) and any information you give us for marketing or promotional purposes until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive and store this information.
What are your rights
If at any point you believe the information we process is incorrect, you can request to see this information and request to have it corrected and/or deleted. It is your right to view and update any personal information we have about you. Or, if you wish to raise a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us to have the matter investigated.
