Financing life science technologies for high-burden public health challenges

As a new investment firm focused on global health, Adjuvant Capital stepped into the spotlight with a comprehensive brand identity and content strategy to inform its website, impact reports, presentation deck and other collateral materials. This double-bottom-line firm evolved from the Global Health Investment Fund established by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to invest in technologies that improve high-burden health issues in low- and middle-income countries while delivering financial returns to investors.

The Ask

As a new investment fund in a crowded market, Adjuvant looked to Manoverboard (now part of Mangrove) to design a distinct brand identity and digital presence that would underscore its credibility and unique impact on the investment and global health landscape. Using our impact investing sector knowledge honed over more than a decade, we aimed to create brand assets that position Adjuvant as a company that pays attention to detail while keeping the big picture in mind.

The Solution

The double-slash logo we designed is a striking reference to the fund’s double-bottom-line approach.  We chose a modern take on a corporate color palette, juxtaposing soft pinks and blues against stoic dark greys. This approach is calm yet fresh, supporting the communication of serious subjects without overwhelming the reader.

Adjuvant’s website reflects its brand identity beautifully and consistently. It features a visually lush homepage and lightweight, energy-efficient internal pages that still pack a punch with strong photography, sharp typography, and engaging copy. A flexible publishing/blogging system houses case studies and news articles.

Overall, applying Adjuvant’s brand identity throughout its communication channels has created a visual language highlighting its dynamism, youthfulness, and smarts.

Highlights

The Adjuvant Capital website received a highly coveted Honorable Mention from Awwwards, a peer-evaluated design organization recognizing some of the best web designers, developers and agencies worldwide.

The website was also featured as a Site of the Week on one of the world’s foremost typography websites, Typewolf.
