Presidio Knolls School

Presidio Knolls needed an answer to their existing Squarespace site, which had become limiting for their needs. Periodic changes over the years had left it feeling inconsistent, and the navigation made it hard for visitors to move between related pages or find key resources like the Curriculum Guide, Admissions Brochure, and School Calendar. The school chose custom WordPress development to build a solid new foundation that reflects the caliber of their programming and ethos, and better serves their students and families.

A flexible foundation: We replaced the school's Squarespace platform with a site built on WordPress, moving away from the static and blocky feeling of the previous template. Building the new site on WordPress ensures flexibility for future updates and offers a simpler way for the school to manage the site day to day.

Navigation built for discovery and purpose: The site's navigation was reviewed and rebuilt so visitors can move naturally through related content, and clearly find the information they need. The new site structure also places curriculum details, admissions information, and the School Calendar in easy to find locations. Sarah Beauchemin, a Mangrove partner, led content strategy and copywriting for roughly 10 pages, bringing one clear voice to the content, helping to better share the school's story and information.

Custom tools for a bilingual school: Two customizations helped ensure the site was tailored to the school and their needs: a custom Curriculum Guide block, ready to be implemented with final content from the PKS team, and a set of custom blocks supporting English and Chinese content, already live on the site today.

Accessibility that reflects the brand: Meeting WCAG Level A accessibility standards meant working closely with the school's existing visual identity, especially their green, to translate it into a version built for the web that meets accessibility requirements while staying true to the brand their team has built. We also collaborated closely to find just the right structure for the Curriculum Guide.

The new site gives Presidio Knolls a digital home that better reflects the school's mission and ethos. It's a modern, welcoming space with clear information for families, and flexibility for the school.
